Blood-C

(Sashimi - coming right up!)
Its Otaku-chan here! I wanted to let you all know that I'm incredibly sorry for being unable to update my review. I live here Queensland, as some of you may know, we've had very stormy weather that's caused all sorts of tragedies. But rest assure, I am here to review: Blood-C!
Blood-C as some of you avid fans may know, used to be known as Blood+ which aired way back in 2005 if memory serves me correctly! Now, the story as amazing as it is, follows Saya Kisaragi. She's looks like a normal school girl who is incredibily clumsy. She resides with her father, who also happens to teach her the 'art of the sword'. Throughout the series, she's faces 'trials' that test her.
Hopefully, without ruining too much of the story, Blood-C is incredible in its action sequence. Its reminiscent of another animation series that I hold in high esteem called 'Claymore' (upcoming review people!) The fighting, is so well done, at times I found myself grinning like a fool and on the edge of my seat! Seriously though, if you're uneasy at the sight of blood, then this series will cure you of that! From the get-go, there's a flurry of blades that often leaves a trail on thinly sliced monster sashimi that would even make the 'Iron Chefs' chuckle! If action is your need, than Blood-C is 'it'!
Sadly, I found the most of the cast mostly dull besides Saya Kisaragi. Whether this was done purposely however, I am unsure, but it really does make the protagonist stand out above the rest of the cast. Saya, is a kind, upbeat girl who at times, can be overly polite even with those whom she considers close friends. Despite her 'alternate side', she's often clumsy which results in her face-planting and being late. Throughout the course of the series she is revealed to be a Furukimono hunter, something she hold with pride as she believes she is following her mother's footsteps and that is where the action begins and where I end. Spoilers*
The music wasn't anything spectacular, there were moments where I felt incredibly inspired by a certain scene but that feeling didn't really last throughout the series. Though, in all fairness, this animation series is quite 'dark' and I'm assuming that its heavy action orientation makes up for it!
Despite being only composed of 12 episodes this series does not fail to live up to predecessors. I have yet to see the movie 'Blood-C: the last dark' but when I do, I am sure I will review it for all you lovely little otakus! All in All, Blood-C is a series that has definite re-watch value! Its story, in particular the dramatic twists, you'll find most memorable as I did. Apart from that, the over-the-top action is what really landed Blood-C as one of my all time anime favorites! Of-course, its not for the little kiddies, definitely targeted at young adults so keep that in mind!
Visual - 9/10 (you will not regret watching the action sequences!)
Audio - 6/10
Star Rating - 3/5 stars!
For my ever growing army of otaku's, its been a pleasure review Blood-C and I hope you all enjoyed it!
from your friendly friend,
Otaku-Chan
